New York: K2 Global™ announced today that it has appointed Mr. Thomas Bock as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Bock has over 18 years of experience serving the financial services industry in the areas of anti-money laundering, regulatory compliance, fraud investigations and risk management. He specializes in Know Your Customer, Customer Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring, USA PATRIOT Act, Risk Assessments, Enhanced Due Diligence, FCPA and financial fraud investigations.

Mr. Bock previously worked as an Executive Director with Daylight Forensic & Advisory, a Director at KPMG and a financial fraud investigator at Republic National Bank. He holds a BA in Computer Information Systems and Finance from Manhattan College and a MS in Economic Crime Management from Utica College.

K2 Global Consulting appoints Paul de Bendern Managing Director in London

London: K2 Global Consulting announced today that it has appointed Mr. Paul de Bendern as a Managing Director based in London. Mr. de Bendern brings extensive knowledge in finance, energy and commodities to K2 Global Consulting, as well as first-hand experience in assessing political risk of many of the world’s most complex countries and regions. He has had an illustrious career in journalism, with 16 years at Reuters news agency in senior positions in Latin America, North Africa, Turkey, Scandinavia and, most recently, in charge of Thomson Reuters 100 news staff in India.

K2 Completes Work on Incident Response with Claims Conference

New York: K2 Global Consulting has completed its assignment for the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (the “Claims Conference”) working on its immediate response to a fraud carried out against the organization.

The Claims Conference, headquartered in New York with offices in Frankfurt and Tel Aviv, is responsible for disbursing compensation to Holocaust survivors on behalf of the German government.  The Claims Conference discovered that a group of individuals had defrauded the organization out of more than $42 million by falsifying claim applications. The organization worked extensively with federal law enforcement authorities at uncovering the details of the fraud, which culminated in the arrest of 16 people in November 2010.

The work undertaken by K2 Global Consulting with respect to the Claims Conference’s immediate response to the arrests, including providing both security and computer forensic services, was carried out between November 2010 and January 2011.

K2 Global Consulting appoints Vincent D’Amelio Executive Managing Director in New York

K2 Global Consulting announced today that it has appointed Mr. Vincent D’Amelio to be an Executive Managing Director. Mr. D’Amelio will head the New York office, focusing on client service, talent acquisition, business development, project execution, and deepening K2’s overall financial investigations and consulting capabilities.

Mr. Jeremy Kroll, CEO and Co‐Founder of K2 Global Consulting said, “With a background in forensic accounting that spans over 20 years, Vince has worked on a wide range of cases including; the Madoff investigation, Ponzi schemes, and complex accounting and financial statement fraud. He has also served as an independent integrity monitor throughout his career including leading the financial oversight of demolition and debris removal at the World Trade Center site. Prior to joining K2 Global Consulting, Mr. D’Amelio, was a Managing Director in Navigant Consulting’s Dispute & Investigations practice and head of its New York operations. Previously, Mr. D’Amelio was a Director at KPMG Forensic; Vice President at Reliance National Insurance Company; Director of Forensic Accounting at AIG Fidelity; and a Senior Financial Investigator at the New York County District Attorney’s Office.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), he holds a degree from the City University of New York‐Queens College and is certified in Financial Forensics. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of forensic accounting in Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University and he has lectured on investigative and forensic accounting at New York University.

K2 Global Consulting today announced the appointment of Chris Morgan Jones as Strategic Advisor to its Europe, Middle East and Africa business.

Morgan Jones will advise K2 Global’s EMEA management team on strategy, management and client assignments.

Morgan Jones was previously with Kroll Inc. for eleven years, latterly as Regional Managing Director of the Consulting Group for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before taking this position he established the firm’s Central and Eastern Europe practice and worked as head of Business Intelligence in the region.

Chris’s extensive experience will further broaden the range of expertise that K2 uses to manage and mitigate its clients’ risks. He has advised emerging and developed market clients on competition issues, cross-border acquisitions and reputational matters, and has particular strength in advising clients on international disputes.
